Travel

Most UK airlines fly to Seville airport (SVQ) – British Airways and EasyJet via London Gatwick, and Ryanair via London Stansted. Seville airport is just a 20-minute drive from the city centre. It typically costs between 12-20 euros in an Uber or local taxi. Alternatively, there is an airport shuttle bus to the city centre for a few euros.

If you want to pre-book airport transfers, although a bit pricier than Uber, check Civitatis

Accommodation

We recommend staying in the old town, the ‘Casco Antiguo’ (see highlighted area). Seville’s Cathedral is at the very heart of the old town and is surrounded by all the best restaurants and bars. Staying within this area will ensure you’re close walking distance to all the very best of Sevilla. Our venue, Villa Luisa, is located at the south end of the ‘María Luisa Park’. It is a 10-minute taxi journey from the city centre.

FAQs

How do I RSVP?

Please RSVP via this website, by clicking the button below and completing the short form.

What is the dress code?

Our wedding will be a black-tie occasion, meaning tuxedos, dinner jackets and evening dresses. Spanish weddings are typically glam, evening events. Some inspiration for Spanish black-tie weddings here.

Please note, the ceremony, drinks and dinner will be held outdoors (weather dependent). The evening dancing will be indoors. In October in Seville, it should be around 22-25 degrees during the day, and around 15 degrees in the evening.

What colour are the bridesmaids wearing?

The bridesmaids will be wearing pale blue.

Are children welcome?

We hope you will understand that we are keeping our special day as an adult-only occasion.

Why Seville?

Eve lived and studied in Seville during university and so we spent many wonderful weekends exploring the city together. We also got engaged here. Now, 10 years later – we feel very lucky to be able to host our wedding in this amazing city, and we cannot wait to share it with all the people we love the most.

Is there a gifts registry?

No. As you are all travelling to celebrate with us, we are not having a gift registry or expecting any gifts at all. We are so honoured that you will join us in Seville to celebrate. If you insist, we would appreciate contributions to our honeymoon.

Do I have a plus one?

All invited guests are named on the invitations so please check these.

How should I get to the wedding venue?

There is no parking available at the venue, but it is close to the city centre so we recommend taxis/Ubers.

Sevilla Recommendations

Tourist attractions

If you are spending a couple of days enjoying Sevilla alongside our wedding festivities, our favourites are as follows:

  • Royal Alcázar of Seville

Gorgeous historic royal palace with amazing gardens. Make sure to prebook your entry tickets online here.

  • Cathedral of Seville

The largest Gothic church in the world. Climb the Giralda tower for amazing views. You can pre-book tickets online for faster entry, or queue on the day.

  • Plaza de España

Not far from our venue, the Plaza de España is a must-visit monument. No tickets needed.

Restaurants

Whilst in Seville, you have to try the local delicacy ‘solomillo al whiskey’ which is pork tenderloin cooked in garlic and whiskey, it is so tasty.

  • La Sacrístia - cheap and cheerful, our absolute favourite for tapas.

  • Antiguedades Bar de Tapas - Our second favourite tapas place.

  • Universal Peoples Bar - another good cheap and cheerful tapas place with big portions.

  • Ena - a restaurant within the Hotel Alfonso XIII – Ena is a small terrace restaurant with good tapas and lovely cocktails in a beautiful setting.

  • Filo - is our favourite lunch place - good for when you want a sandwich/salad lunch, rather than tapas for every meal.

  • Catalina la Barra - another great lunch/tapas place – they do sandwiches & glasses of vino that are cheap and delicious.

  • Mercado del Barranco - covered market, with tapas, seafood, pastries and of course wine and beers.

  • Kukuchurro - is a delish churros place, open late, and there are a few dotted around the city centre.

Drinks

  • Hotel EME - by the cathedral has a rooftop bar – best view of the cathedral & great cocktails

  • Ena - within the Hotel Alfonso XIII, on the gorgeous terrace.

  • The Second Room - cocktail bar near the cathedral with two happy hours, €6 caipirinhas!

Basics

  • If you need a bigger supermarket for toiletries or groceries to fill up on Paprika crisps go to the El Corte Ingles department stores. You can find them here and here.
